Titus Oates tells Charles II of the Popish Plot from a playing card designed by the English painter and engraver, William Faithorne in 1684. The Popish Plot was a fictitious Catholic conspiracy aiming to assassinate Charles II, which was created by Oates and led to at least 15 executions.
